66 Mission Beach Stinger Stations have been repaired and prepared for the season by Rotary Mission Beach.

“The stinger season is about to commence, and during this time, Mission Beach Rotary Members check each of the stinger stations and maintains them by refilling with vinegar and any other maintenance deemed necessary. ”  Says Chris May, President Rotary Mission Beach.

Since TC Yasi Rotary Mission Beach have repaired 66 stinger stations between South Mission Beach and North to Garners Beach.

Most stations were completely destroyed by Yasi and have had to be rebuilt.  The necessary repairs required some QRAA grant funding and some local support from Woolworths Mission Beach.

Essential to the task of getting these Stations at the ready were efforts of Rotary Mission Beach members, such as Andrew Baker and Geoff Beckley (picture attached).  Rotary also keep the vinegar topped up during the season.

If anybody notices there is no vinegar left in a Stinger Station, they should please contact Chris May on 07 40 68 72 20 during working hours.
